Chapter 1: Introduction To Medicare
IN THIS LESSON
Supplement Plans cover the gaps in coverage of Original Medicare.
Supplement plans are standardized by letters A-N in 47 states. Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Wisconsin are organized differently.
Supplement Plans do not have network restrictions or require referrals.
They have a monthly cost.
Part D plans cover prescription drugs
There are many Part D plans to choose from. What plan you pick depends on your medications and what pharmacy you use.
In 2025, prescription plans can have a deductible of up to $590.
For 2025, your maximum prescription out-of-pocket is capped at $2,000 per person. Once you meet the $2,000 spending cap, you will not incur any additional copay for Medicare-covered prescriptions for the rest of the year.
