Chapter 1: Introduction To Medicare
IN THIS LESSON
Supplemental Plans cover the gaps in coverage of Original Medicare.
Supplemental plans are standardized by letters A-N in 47 states. Massachusetts, Minnesota and Wisconsin are organized differently.
Supplemental Plans do not have network restrictions or require referrals.
They have a monthly cost.
Part D plans cover prescription drugs
There are many Part D plans to choose from. What plan you pick depends on your Medications and what Pharmacy you use.
You're covered until around $3700 of full price medication costs. After you reach this number you fall into the Donut Hole where you pay 35% of the drug costs until you reach $5000 in drug costs. After that you pay 5% of costs.
